Notice of the Introduction of Hokkaido Accommodation Tax | Effective April 1, 2026

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our hotel.

In Hokkaido, an accommodation tax will be introduced in order to promote tourism policies that contribute to the development of local communities and the Hokkaido economy. These policies aim to enhance the added value of tourism, strengthen tourism-related services and the systems for welcoming travelers, and reinforce measures to respond to crises in the tourism sector such as natural disasters.

Accordingly, effective April 1, 2026April 1, 2026 (Wednesday), an accommodation tax will be imposed on guests staying at accommodation facilities in Hokkaido in accordance with the Hokkaido ordinance.

Applicable to stays from April 1, 2026 (Wednesday)

■ Accommodation Tax Rate
The tax will be applied according to the accommodation charge per person per night.
